Chief of Army Staff Visits Oti Region to Boost Security

Chief of Army Staff Major General Gbetanu Lawrence has visited Nkwanta South in the Oti Region to assess the security situation and reassure the public of the army’s commitment to restoring peace.
The visit comes amid rising tensions in the community, highlighting the need for peacekeeping measures.
During his visit, Major General Gbetanu met with Oti Regional Minister John Kwadwo Gyapong and other security personnel to discuss the situation.
He thanked the Nkwanta South Municipal Chief Executive, Joseph Antwi Awal, and the assembly for their efforts in maintaining peace in the area.
A key outcome of the visit is the announcement of the establishment of a military base in Dambai. This strategic decision aims to enhance security and provide a rapid response team capable of addressing any future conflicts effectively.
