Hot-Break: GAF Helicopter Crashes in Ashanti Region, Occupants Feared Dead

A devastating helicopter crash occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Adansi Brofoyedu in the Ashanti Region, leaving the aircraft burned beyond recognition.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter, which operates on the Accra-Obuasi route every Wednesday, went down under unclear circumstances.

Assembly Member Matthew Baah, who was working on his farm when the incident occurred, received a distress call and rushed to the scene.

Initial observations suggest that four people may have been on board, with dismembered body parts recovered from the crash site.

However, the identities of the occupants have not yet been confirmed. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, with poor weather conditions potentially being a contributing factor.

The incident has left the community in shock, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
