Nkwanta South MCE Urges Action on Tree for Life Initiative

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, has called on residents to actively participate in the Tree for Life initiative launched by President John Dramani Mahama.
He emphasized the importance of protecting forests for Ghana’s future and urged everyone to cooperate and support the noble cause.
The MCE warned that anyone caught cutting down trees illegally will face severe sanctions and punishment.
He encouraged individuals to plant at least one tree to help restore and preserve the environment, believing that collective action can make a significant impact.
Nana Kowura Odamba II, Paramount Chief of Ntrubo traditional area, has urged the youth to get more involved in agriculture to reduce unemployment and create job opportunities.
He emphasized the need to protect the environment and preserve sacred forests, warning that those who engage in illegal tree cutting will face strong punishment.
The Municipal Forestry Commission Commander, Isaac Boamah Amankwah, has pledged to work with security agencies to protect the environment and prevent deforestation.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration in sourcing seedlings and promoting reforestation efforts, with a target of planting over 150,000 seedlings.
The Commander urged the community to take responsibility for protecting planted trees and report any illegal activities related to deforestation to preserve the environment for future generations.
