Akyem Oda MP Slams NDC’s Education Policies as “Mere Settings”

The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s handling of education.

According to Hon. Acquah, the government’s promises while in opposition were mere “settings” that have not been implemented effectively.

Hon. Acquah cited the example of allowing schools to purchase foodstuff from local markets, which the government had previously promised but later changed its approach.

He expressed disappointment that the government’s actions have undermined the education system.

The MP’s comments come as he organized mock exams for Junior High School (JHS) students in the constituency for the fourth time.

Hon. Acquah encouraged teachers and parents to motivate students to succeed in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and benefit from the free Senior High School (SHS) program.

The District Education Director, Mrs. Gloria Aggrey Kelson, commended the MP for his initiative, noting that the mock exams would help students prepare for their final exams.

Parents and teachers were also urged to support students in their studies and provide a conducive environment for them to excel.
