Oti Region: CHASS Urges Government to Equip Secondary Technical Schools

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) in the Oti Region has called on the government to equip Secondary Technical Institutions in the area to enhance the education system.
The plea was made during a courtesy visit to the Oti Regional Minister, Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, to congratulate him on his nomination.
CHASS highlighted several challenges facing second-cycle institutions in the region, including infrastructure deficits, stalled projects, inadequate furniture, lack of pick-up vehicles, and insufficient computers.
The members also emphasized the need for a STEM school to promote science and technology education.
CHASS expressed concerns about the academic background level of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates admitted to second-cycle institutions and the need for more non-teaching staff to support school operations.
Through the Oti Regional Minister, CHASS urged the government to address these pressing needs to improve the quality of education in the region.
Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister has assured the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS-OTI) that he will engage with the Minister of Education and government to address the challenges facing secondary technical institutions.
He pledged to use his platform to advocate for the necessary support for secondary technical institutions, assuring CHASS that their concerns will be relayed to the relevant authorities for attention.
