*PRESS STATEMENT BY THE ASHANTI REGIONAL CHAIRMEN CAUCUS OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP)*
*WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY FLAGBEARER ASPIRANT OR PARTY LEADER WHOSE ACTIONS AND UTTERANCES PROMOTE DISUNITY/DIVISIVENESS WITHIN THE PARTY*
As Constituency Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region — the stronghold and heart of our great party — we are compelled to speak out against the growing wave of disunity, divisive rhetoric, and factionalism that threaten the very fabric of our political family.
We have a solemn mandate: to uphold the dignity, unity, and integrity of our party, and to work tirelessly toward restoring the NPP to power — not for individual glory, but to continue our mission of advancing national development and delivering a better future for all Ghanaians.
It is profoundly disappointing that, rather than coming together in solidarity after our recent electoral loss, certain individuals have chosen to deepen divisions, promote self-serving agenda, and sow seeds of discord at a time when unity is most critical. These actions, whether through words or conduct, do not serve the interest of the NPP, and we shall not tolerate or endorse them.
Let it be stated clearly and unequivocally: we shall not welcome or support any flagbearer aspirant and their supporters whose conduct undermines the unity, discipline, and collective spirit of our party.
The message from the grassroots and from party faithful across the country is loud and clear — the NPP must be united. That is the most urgent imperative before us as we regroup and re-strategize to reclaim power in the next general elections.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in the midst of public spats, media attacks, and an unhealthy scramble for the flagbearership and other internal positions — just four months after a national defeat that should have inspired sober reflection and collective healing. This behavior is not only damaging our internal morale, but also eroding public confidence in our ability to present a credible and cohesive alternative to lead Ghana forward.
Our energies must be focused on rebuilding the party, strengthening our base, and regaining the trust of the Ghanaian people — not on personal battles or divisive campaigns. If we continue on this path of disunity, we risk jeopardizing everything the NPP stands for.
Now is the time to pause, reflect, and remember our core values — service, unity, and patriotism. We must rise above factional lines, reject selfish ambitions, and embrace the collective vision that has brought us this far.
Unity is not an option now. It is a necessity — the cornerstone of our survival, the foundation of our comeback, and the key to winning back the hearts and minds of Ghanaians.
Let us put the party first. Let us restore internal peace. Let us march together, not divided, toward victory in 2028.
Long live the New Patriotic Party 🇳🇱
Long live Ghana 🇬🇭
