Anglogold Ashanti Commemorates World Malaria Day with Mini Clinic

Anglogold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, UMA, AGAMAL, and other partners, has organized a mini clinic for the people of Obuasi to commemorate World Malaria Day.
The event aimed to provide quality healthcare services to the community, with a focus on the elderly who may face challenges accessing hospital care.
The Community Relations Manager, Mr. Edmond Oduro Agyei, stated that this was the 17th edition of the mini clinic and highlighted its significant impact on the community.
He emphasized that the exercise is designed to provide good healthcare services and support patients who struggle to afford medication.
The Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at AGAMAL, Ignatius Williams, urged residents to practice good sanitation to eliminate malaria.
He advised people to clean their homes and surroundings, eliminating unwanted bushes that can breed mosquitoes.
Williams also provided an update on the malaria status in Obuasi, emphasizing the importance of community efforts to combat the disease.
The event showcases Anglogold Ashanti’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the Obuasi community.
