The assembly members of Twifo Atti Morkwa District in the Central Region have unanimously endorsed Hon. Isaac Yawson as District Chief Executive (DCE) and Hon. Daniel Agbodza as Presiding Member (PM).
Out of 39 members, 37 voted in favor, while the remaining votes were rejected.
Hon. Isaac Yawson aims to improve road infrastructure in the district. Enhancing education facilities is a top priority for the newly elected DCE.
Mr.Yawson pledged to collaborate with stakeholders and youth to address illegal mining activities, particularly in water bodies.
Hon. Isaac Yawson plans to work with stakeholders to find alternative livelihoods for illegal miners and address the issue of galamsey in the district.
This approach is crucial, given the negative impact of galamsey on cocoa production and the environment.
Hon. Daniel Agbodzar, assembly member for Nuamakurom electoral area and also the Presiding Member, has urged the local Minister to take serious action to address the challenges faced by assembly members in their daily activities.
