Brooklyn Methodist Guild Visits Holy Family Hospital, Pays Bills for Patients

Ghana Wesley united Methodist Church Guild Brooklyn in New York has visited the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, Ghana, and paid the bills for patients who had been discharged but were unable to settle their medical expenses

The donation, totalling GH₵ 10,926, was presented by the Guild’s treasurer, Alex Acheampong, and Secretary Joyce Osei – Tutu

Mr. Alex Acheampong, Treasurer of the Brooklyn Methodist Guild and National Guild Vice President, explained that the motivation of the donation was rooted in their Christian faith.

He emphasized that helping those in need is a fundamental aspect of their beliefs, citing biblical teachings such as caring for the hungry, the naked, and those in prison.

Mr. Acheampong expressed his conviction that their actions would be blessed by God, who would protect, guide, and multiply their efforts.

He also highlighted the challenges faced by many, including financial struggles and urgent bills to pay, dispelling the notion that life abroad is always easy.

During the donation ceremony, Joyce Osei-Tutu emphasized the importance of hard work, diligence, and discipline for Ghanaian youth.

She encouraged them to take their work seriously and explore opportunities abroad to gain new experiences and perspectives.


Asamoah Reuben, Principal Nursing Officer at the Holy Family Hospital, expressed gratitude for the donation and highlighted some of the hospital’s challenges, including limited funding and reliance on internal generated funds to pay staff salaries He appealed for further support from Ghanaians, corporate societies, philanthropists, and individuals.

The Brooklyn Methodist Guild’s donation serves as a call to action for others to get involved in charitable work and support those in need.

The hospital’s representatives urged individuals and organizations to consider making donations or providing other forms of support to help address the challenges faced by the hospital and its patients.
