Police Neutralize Armed Robbery Gang on Bekwai-Fomena Highway

The Ashanti South Police Command has confirmed the killing of four armed robbers in a gun battle on the Bekwai-Fomena highway.
According to ASP Duasah Darkwah, Deputy Regional Crime Officer, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025, after the suspects robbed Adansi Rural Bank at Fomena and other establishments.
The police received a tip-off about the robbery and swiftly responded to the scene. Upon approaching the robbers, they were met with gunfire, leading to an exchange of bullets.
Four suspects were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while one suspect, Jacob, sustained injuries and is currently admitted. Another suspect, Rasta, managed to flee and is currently on the run.
ASP Duasah Darkwah assured the public of the police’s commitment to their safety and security.
He, however, appealed for assistance from the public in terms of information to aid in dealing with criminal activities. The police have vowed to bring the suspect who fled to justice.
The deceased suspects have been identified as Sammy Tuga, WK, Daniel and Efo, whiles the injured suspect is identified as Jacob.
However, the suspect currently on the run is known as Rasta.
This incident is a testament to the police’s efforts to combat crime in the region.
