
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the Ashanti Region.
The victims, Patricia Nimako and Gideon Owusu Sarpong, alias “Junior,” were killed in separate incidents in February and March 2025.
According to DCOP Emmanuel Teye Codjoe, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, the first incident occurred on February 13, 2025, at Krofrom, where Nimako was killed alongside a sum of money.
The second incident took place on March 10, 2025, at Kwadaso, where Sarpong was robbed and murdered at his residence.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Audae Mensah, 42. They were arrested on March 21, 2025, at Pankrono and Atimatim, respectively, and are currently in police custody.
The police are urging a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, aka Augustine Amaoh, alias “Baba Macho,” to surrender. Amoah is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region, or Accra.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command’s swift action in apprehending the suspects is a significant step towards bringing justice to the victims and their families. The police are working tirelessly to ensure that all those involved in the crimes are brought to justice.
