Health Minister Pledges Support for Private Health Universities in Ghana

In a significant move to boost Ghana’s healthcare sector, the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandoh, has pledged massive support for both private and public health universities in the country.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to KAAF UNIVERSITY, the minister emphasized the crucial role health education plays in Ghana’s socio-economic development.
Hon. Akandoh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Juaboso, stressed the need to support health universities in training more health officers.
He hinted that his outfit would work tirelessly to upgrade KAAF UNIVERSITY and other health universities to medical universities.
The minister charged health students at KAAF UNIVERSITY to take their studies seriously, urging them to excel in their courses. Meanwhile, the Registrar for KAAF UNIVERSITY, Mr. Frimpong Okyere, elaborated on the university’s plans to expand and become a medical school, serving the needs of Ghanaians.
This development is in line with the Ministry of Health’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.
The ministry recognizes that a healthy population is essential for national development, as outlined in the National Health Policy.
