TENSION ERUPTS AT GOMOA ABREKUM, RESIDENTS, NANANOM CALL ON IGP, PRESIDENT OVER LANGUARDS ISSUES

Residents and nananom of Gomoa Abrekum in the Gomoa West district are calling on the inspector general of police, president and other security agencies over landguards disturbances after contractor working on kasoa – Cape Coast highway takes their land for sand winning.
Gomoa Abrekum is community with population of over 1,000 but the community practice open defecation at their sea shores, lacks market complex, CHIPS Compound and proper roads.
In a press conference, the leader of Gomoa Abrekum youth, Seth Kobena Krampah Arhin has revealed that, the contractor working on kasoa – Cape Coast highway has taken the community land and winning sand on the land but some people have taken the royalties into their pocket and harassing the land owners and nananom with landguards.
He he has therefore calling on IGP, President and other security agencies to come to intervene to avoid any possible clash between the youth and the landguards.
Meanwhile, some of the aggrieved Residents has also said, the community lacks toilet facility, proper health center, market complex and other Basic social amenities making life unbearable for them and are calling on authorities to come to their aid.
