Odawuhene advises government to set up factories in rural areas

Odawuhene Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe has advised the government to establish factories in rural areas, stating that this would provide employment opportunities for the youth, enabling them to earn a steady income.

Speaking to the media after the Akwesidea celebration, the Chief attributed the involvement of many young people in undesirable activities to unemployment.

According to him, lack of work has led some youth to engage in practices like smoking and other vices.

Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe encouraged the government to collaborate with private entities through public-private partnerships to create jobs in rural areas.

Additionally, the Chief urged the general public to maintain environmental cleanliness to prevent illnesses.

Echoing this, Mr. Charles Uyan, the Environmental Health Officer for the Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region, advised the public to keep their surroundings clean.

He recommended that households construct and maintain clean toilets and that animal keepers confine their animals.

Mr. Uyan stated that sanitation officers would conduct home inspections to assess cleanliness, warning that individuals found with sanitation issues could face prosecution.

He stressed the importance of taking sanitation seriously.
