Government Revamps Agenda To Boost Assembly Funds

The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Member of Parliament for the Shama Constituency, Hon. Emilia Arthur has emphasized that the government’s commitment to reset and develop Ghana extends beyond the cities to every corner of the country.
In light of this, the government has increased the District Assembly Common Fund and directed that it be sent directly to various assemblies.
Hon. Emilia Arthur called on the public to support the government, emphasizing that development is a shared responsibility and that rural communities must not be overlooked.
Speaking at the during the first ordinary session of the Shama Municipal Assembly, the Hon. Memeber remarks that, the new move will aid assemblies to address diverse local challenges confronting their outfits.
Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Shama, Ortis Dentu, added that the assembly has identified ongoing projects and has introduced new ones focused on education, healthcare, road improvements, and the construction of a modern 24-hour economy market in Shama. He urged assembly members to support the assembly’s efforts to develop the area.
The Presiding Member of the Shama Municipal Assembly, Emmanuel Kojo Owuewie, touched on the importance of revenue generation and stressed the need to work diligently with communities to improve revenue mobilization.
