The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Stephen Wengam, has advised the Ghanaian youths to wholly commit themselves to God and aim at making Him their topmost priority in life. He intimated that the terrible happenings in this present-day is a clear indication of how hopeless and empty the world has become for mankind.
Speaking at the 45th Anniversary Celebrations and Homecoming of the Upper Room Revival Assembly in Kumasi on Saturday, 16th August 2025, he stressed that even as world economies crumble and slide into chaos, Christianity would continue to reign supreme.
Reverend Wengam urged the congregation to devote themselves to intensive prayers at all times and lead holy lives. Additionally, he admonished the congregants to work diligently, submit themselves to God, and project and unblemished integrity.
He said the vision of the church is to win souls for Jesus Christ and propagate the gospel beyond borders. Describing the Upper Room Revival Assembly as thriving, he challenged the entire church to do more exploits.
In an interview, the Head Pastor of Upper Room Revival Assembly, Reverend Ben Adu Gyamfi Yeboah, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God, the church leadership, planning committee, former pastors and the entire congregation for their selfless dedication for God’s work.
Reflecting on the church’s trajectory and impact in the 45-year period, he noted that the massive planting of churches has ignited the passion for the church to focus on training more young pastors for the mission ahead. According to him, the ultimate goal is to prepare humanity for heaven.
In consonance with the church’s mission, Reverend Ben Adu Gyamfi Yeboah, has pledged to extensively engage with the youth and encourage them to avail themselves for God’s work. Re-echoing the words of Reverend Wengam, he advised that youths to be godly and upright.
