GHANA MOURNS HER HEROES
—A message from Archbishop Charles Agyinasare
With a heart full of sorrow, I join the nation in mourning the tragic passing of eight gallant Ghanaians who perished in the recent military helicopter crash.
Among them were:
1. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister for Defence
2. Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment
3. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Dr. Samuel Sarpong – Vice Chairman, NDC
5. Mr. Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary Candidate, Obuasi East
6. Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala
7. Flying Officer Twum Ampadu
8. Sergeant Ernest Addo
These were men of courage, conviction, and commitment to national service. They died not in vain, but in pursuit of peace, protection of our environment, and defense of our democracy.
On behalf of Perez Chapel International, the Global Charismatic Ministers’ Network, the Bible Society of Ghana, and my family, I extend heartfelt condolences to their families, the Government of Ghana, the Armed Forces, and the entire citizenry.
May their sacrifice stir in us a renewed devotion to serve with excellence and unity. And may the God of all comfort surround us with His peace in this moment of national grief.
