Accra Takes Bold Step Towards Transparent Premix Fuel Distribution

Accra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey has launched a new Landing Beach Committee to overhaul premix fuel distribution in the city’s coastal communities.

The committee aims to promote transparency and accountability in the allocation of premix fuel to fishermen.

The move is aim to supervise the sale and disbursement of premix fuel at the local level, ensuring strict compliance with national regulations, Accountability and Transparency

The committee consists of diverse local stakeholders, including a Representatives from fishing communities, those involved in the fish trade,Advocates for youth interests, leaders from local traditional councils, and  a representative from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

Mayor Allotey emphasized the importance of unity, fairness, and transparency in managing premix fuel, a vital resource for fishing communities.

He stated, “This marks a renewed commitment to ensure that premix fuel is distributed equitably and managed in accordance with national standards.”

The mayor is determined to direct proceeds toward real development in fishing communities.
