
The outgoing Head of Retail Business at SIC Life, Mr. Okyere Darko, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local businesses in Ghana.
Speaking at a colorful send-off ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Adum on Tuesday, Mr. Darko expressed his heartfelt gratitude to staff members who contributed to his successful tenure.
The ceremony, which doubled as a celebration of his 60th birthday, was attended by his family, regional staff, representatives from the national headquarters, and regional managers.
With 40 years of dedicated service to SIC, Mr. Darko rose through the ranks to become the Head of Retail Business, driving the company’s growth with his expertise and leadership.
Mr. Darko was showered with much citations and well wishes messages from love one and family which led emotional and sharing of tears.
All was a testament to his good working relationship both with his superiors and subordinates as well.
In his farewell address, Mr. Darko urged staff to work tirelessly towards the company’s progress, emphasizing the need for a harmonious work environment free from religious, political, and tribal differences.
Robert Kpakpo Brown, Head of Business Development at SIC Life, praised Mr. Darko’s humility and leadership, encouraging colleagues to emulate his example. “He’s a true leader,” Brown said.
Kwaku Gyimah, Adum branch manager, who shared a working relationship with Mr. Darko, described him as a kind-hearted person.
“His absence will leave a vast vacuum in the organizational structure,” Gyimah said, wishing him a fruitful retirement.
As Mr. Darko departs, his legacy is expected to continue shaping the company’s commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering a positive work culture.
