YADD-Ghana calls for national development plan to guide presidential decisions

Youth Alliance for Democratic Development (YADD) Ghana is advocating for a national development plan to advise the president on development initiatives.

Speaking at the YADD-GHANA open forum program at the University of Ghana, Legon,
James Kofi Martey, Executive Director of Youth Alliance for Democratic Development, Ghana (YADD-GHANA), emphasized that a national development plan would ensure continuity and progress.

According to him, the current system relies on party manifestos, leading to discontinuity and neglect of previous policies.

Mr Martey furthered that a national development plan would provide a unified framework for development and also enable the president to make informed decisions for the country’s growth

Martey’s call highlights the need for a long-term, bipartisan approach to national development, rather than relying on individual party manifestos.

The open forum program provide the opportunity for the Youth/students to share their insights on the importance of constitution as a guiding public document for good gorvernace a and accountable leadership through the creation of a common platform.
