Former President Akufo-Addo’s Office Denies Allegations of Seeking to Overturn NPP Decisions

By Isaac Okyere

The Office of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has strongly denied allegations that he sought to overturn the party’s decision on early primaries and postpone the July 19 NPP National Delegates conference.

These allegations were made in two separate publications on Otecfmghana and Ghanaweb.

In a statement released on July 14, 2025, the Office of former President Akufo-Addo described the reports as “completely false”.

The statement emphasized that President Akufo-Addo, who is currently out of the jurisdiction, has not made any such requests to the party and has no intentions of doing so.

The statement suggested that those behind the publications have an agenda of their own, unrelated to improving the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The Office of former President Akufo-Addo has categorically denied the allegations, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in reporting and the potential harm caused by false information.
