Concerned Drivers Throws Weight Behind Dr. Hanna Bisiw’s Anti-Galamsey Crusade

The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana has pledged its unwavering support for Dr. Hanna Bisiw-Kotei, Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund, in her fight against illegal mining (galamsey).
Speaking at a press conference, Paa Willie, President of the Association, commended Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s approach, saying it is the right step towards saving the country’s water bodies.
Paa Willie, however, cautioned Dr. Bisiw-Kotei to remain impartial and not spare any party members found to be involved in galamsey. He also lauded President Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and Goldboard CEO Sammy Gyamfi for their stance against galamsey and urged them to continue their efforts.
To enhance the fight against galamsey, Paa Willie recommended that the security task force responsible for arresting illegal miners be frequently rotated to prevent bribery.
Kwesi Arhin, President of the Association’s Central Regional chapter, echoed this sentiment, calling on President Mahama and the Vice President to fully support Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s efforts and deal with all individuals involved in galamsey, regardless of their affiliation.
The Association emphasized the devastating impact of galamsey, citing the example of children going blind due to water pollution, and urged Dr. Bisiw-Kotei to remain resolute in her fight, refusing to be swayed by any influence.
