The Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) has announced that the Certificate II Examinations for technical students will take place from June 30th to July 7th, 2024. A total of 55,295 candidates, comprising 40,339 males and 14,956 females, are expected to sit for the exams.

The Director-General of CTVET, Mr. Zakaria Sulemana, emphasized the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.

He noted that TVET is central to initiatives aimed at job creation, industrialization, and inclusive growth, and that the Commission’s reforms focus on relevance, quality, and accessibility.

Mr. Sulemana assured that the Commission is committed to maintaining the highest standards in the conduct of examinations, recognizing the far-reaching implications of the outcomes on the perception of the TVET system’s quality and the employability of graduates.

The CTVET Certificate II Examinations serve as a critical mechanism to assess the readiness of learners to transition into the world of work or proceed to further levels of training.

These exams are not merely tests of memory or academic achievement; they are a robust measure of competence, demonstrating the ability to apply knowledge to real-world tasks.”

The Commission’s vision is to ensure that every Ghanaian youth has access to training that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to succeed in the 21st-century workforce, be it as skilled employees, innovators, or entrepreneurs.
