Akua Sena Dansua Urges NDC to Empower Next Generation and Care for Party Pioneers

Former Ghana Ambassador to Germany, Her Excellency Akua Sena Dansua, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to empower the younger generation to take over the mantle of leadership from the party’s pioneers.

Speaking at the United Cadres Front anniversary commemoration, Dansua emphasized the importance of recognizing and appreciating the sacrifices made by the party’s founding members.

She called on the party to decentralize its activities to the district and regional levels, allowing people at the grassroots to feel included.

She suggested that the party should find ways to sponsor initiatives that support the younger generation, enabling them to carry on the party’s legacy.

Former Ambassador highlighted the need to support party pioneers who have made significant contributions to the party’s growth.

She noted that many of these pioneers are now in need of support, particularly with regards to medication and financial assistance.

The former MP for North Dayi and minister of Tourism urged the party to identify and support these individuals, providing them with monthly stipends to help with their medication and other needs.

She also suggested that the party should support party pioneers who have entrepreneurial skills, such as hairdressers, seamstresses, and artisans, by providing them with the necessary resources to grow their businesses. This, she said, would enable them to become independent and take care of their families.

Dansua concluded by suggesting that the celebration of the party’s pioneers should be made an integral part of the party’s yearly calendar. She emphasized that the party’s pioneers are the foundation of the party, and without them, the party would not be where it is today.
