KRACHI WEST: MCE URGES HONEST ACCOUNTABILITY AT OTIDIS MEETING

Hon Prosper Kwaku Addo, the Krachi West Municipal Chief Executive and Dean of Oti MMDCEs, addressed members of the Oti Region District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

In his speech, he emphasized that financial discipline is not optional but essential for delivering quality public services such as education, water, sanitation, infrastructure, and security.

He highlighted that careful planning, prudent spending, accurate reporting, and accountability are vital for achieving goals, ensuring sustainability, and building a solid financial foundation.

Hon Prosper Kwaku Addo pointed out that accountants in public institutions are more than bookkeepers; they are strategic financial advisors, risk managers, and leaders who influence how funds are spent and whether institutions can operate sustainably in the long term.

He stressed the importance of accountants in preparing realistic budgets aligned with institutional and national priorities, and in monitoring expenditures to ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Hon Prosper Kwaku Addo speaking to XYZ News, and Ibrahim Nsor expressed his excitement about all accountants working professionally, honestly, and with transparency in their offices.

He urged them to work with good hearts, obey rules and regulations, and avoid any form of corruption or misconduct.

He also emphasized the importance of being proactive and working effectively according to the guidelines that govern their roles.
