Gazetted Kpassa Wura Sets Record Straight

Nana Ayeng Anebo II, the gazetted Kpassa Wura, has responded to allegations and misinformation spread by a Konkomba headman, Ubor Konja Tassan, regarding the settlement of ownership at Kpassa.

In a rejoinder, Nana Ayeng Anebo II described the claims as “naked lies” aimed at misleading the public.

He disputed a publication by Ghana News Agency quoting a “Kpassa Traditional Council” denouncing a claimant, stating that no such traditional council exists in Kpassa.

Nana Ayeng Anebo II asserted his legitimacy as the gazetted Kpassa Wura, citing his registration in the National Register of Chiefs in 2010 and gazetted in the Chieftaincy Bulletin.

He emphasized that the title “Wura” is of Guan origin and questioned Ubor Konja Tassan’s claim to Guan heritage.

Nana Ayeng Anebo II also highlighted Ubor Konja Tassan’s inconsistent claims of titles, including Community Headman, Divisional Chief, and Paramount Chief, and noted that Konkombas are an acephalous society that does not practice chieftaincy.

Nana Ayeng Anebo II called on Ghana News Agency to verify information with the National House of Chiefs to clear the air.
