Oti Region’s Coordinating Council Building Project in Limbo

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Krachi East, Hon. Safo Nketia, has made a passionate appeal to government and non-governmental organizations to support the completion of the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC) building in Dambai, the regional capital.

The unfinished structure has been a source of concern for the region, with the ORCC currently operating from makeshift offices.

Hon. Nketia expressed disappointment that the previous administration failed to complete the project, leaving the region without a dedicated office space since its creation.

The Krachi East Municipal Assembly has been accommodating the ORCC in its offices, while operating from a World Vision office due to overcrowding. However, Rural Enterprise has issued a notice to vacate, further exacerbating the situation.

Hon. Nketia emphasized the need for the ORCC’s completion, which would enable the Krachi East Municipal Assembly to reclaim its original office.

He criticized the current administration for neglecting the Oti Region, noting that it is the only newly created region without a functional coordinating council office.

The MCE’s appeal highlights the urgent need for support to complete the ORCC building and address the region’s infrastructure challenges.
