Kwahu Awenare again: Man 43, murdered, dumped in Cocoa farm at Àkwasiho

The body of Kofi Asiamah, a man who had been missing for seven days, has been found dead in a cocoa farm near Akwasiho, in the Kwahu West Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region.

The decomposing body was discovered by police and community members and has been taken to the Holy Family Hospital morgue in Nkawkaw.

Residents of Awenare, where Asiamah was from, suspect foul play, citing previous attacks and assaults on him linked to his loyalty to the Queen Mother of the community. Asiamah’s supporters believe these incidents may be connected to his death.

Asiamah’s mother, Abena Wireduaa, spoke to a community reporter, recounting her son’s troubles and appealing for police intervention to ensure justice. “We want the police to thoroughly investigate this case and bring those responsible to justice,” she said.

Kwajo Frimpong, Asiamah’s brother, also spoke out, narrating the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death and calling for police action. “We need the police hierarchy to step in and ensure justice is served for my brother,” he said.

The community is awaiting the outcome of the police investigation, hoping for clarity on the circumstances surrounding Asiamah’s death.
