E/R, Oda: MP Donates to Schools In His constituency

The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency in the Birim Central Municipality Eastern Region, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has donated school uniforms to school children in the constituency as part of his effort to boost students’ confidence levels.

This “Back to School” program aims to support needy students by alleviating the financial burden of acquiring uniforms, which is a critical requirement for school attendance.

Some benefited schools include Frimpong Manso, Ridge Experimental, Presby Girls, St. Anthony, Oda Nkwanta M/A, among others.

This initiative will also promote inclusivity and enable more children to stay in school and pursue their education.

The MP, speaking to the media after the donation, stated that it’s not only learning in the classroom that helps students, but what they wear also helps boost the confidence level of every student.

According to him, when he was monitoring mock exams he organized for JHS Three students, he realized some students’ uniforms were not in good condition, so he thought it wise to help them with uniforms, regardless of the time left for them to complete JHS.

He said the uniforms will boost the confidence level of the students and urged teachers to identify needy students in various schools so he can offer them support.

Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah emphasized that since becoming MP, education has been a significant focus, and it’s beneficial to invest in education. “If you pump money into education, you’re not throwing your money away; the students are the future of the nation, so it’s worth investing in education.”
