NPP Demands Probe into Attorney General over Bribery Allegations

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for an immediate investigation into allegations that Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine attempted to bribe the Appointments Committee of Parliament with GH₵500,000.

The allegations were made by Member of Parliament Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus.

NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye criticized Dr. Ayine for not taking decisive action to clear his name. “If the allegations are untrue, Dr. Ayine should take A-Plus to court for defamation,” Boakye said.

The NPP is urging President John Dramani Mahama to probe the bribery allegations, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in government.

The party believes that Dr. Ayine’s response to the allegations has been inadequate, particularly his focus on investigating A-Plus’s knowledge of the NSS scandal instead of addressing the bribery claims directly.

The allegations have sparked a heated debate, with many questioning Dr. Ayine’s integrity and calling for swift action to resolve the matter.
