NDC Chairman Denies Galamsey Allegations, Seeks GH₵1.5 Million in Damages

The Atwima Mponua NDC Constituency Chairman, Haruna Salifu, also known as Chairman Kutu, has denied allegations of involvement in illegal mining (galamsey) made in a viral video.

Salifu has taken legal action against Amaro Shakur, the publisher of the video, seeking GH₵1.5 million in damages for false claims.

Mr. Salifu is demanding the declaration that the publications are defamatory and Retraction of the publication on social media platforms, A public apology and order restraining further false publications

Chairman Kutu has reaffirmed his support for the government’s efforts to combat illegal mining.

He urges the public to disregard the false allegations and focus on the fight against galamsey.
