Group Petitions NPP National Leadership to Sanction Abronye DC for Insults

A group known as Legon Lecturers and Professionals For Ken has petitioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national leadership to call Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffo,
Abronye DC to order.

The group cites Abronye’s continuous outbursts and insulting language, particularly targeting certain individuals within the party.

Professor Alhassan Suleiman, President of Legon Professionals for Ken, expressed concern that the Bono Regional Chairman’s outbursts and insults during the thank-you tour could harm the party.

Speaking to the media after presenting a petition to the NPP national leadership at party headquarters, he noted that the party executives’ silence on the matter is worrying and projects a negative image of the party.

The group argues that allowing such behavior to continue unchecked could lead to reciprocal insults and damage party unity. They urge the party’s disciplinary committee to take swift action to address the issue.

The group comprising lecturers and professionals from the University of Ghana, request that the NPP national leadership take a careful look at the petition and act promptly to maintain party discipline and unity.

They emphasize the importance of accountability and respect within the party.

Oliva Amoako, spokesperson for Legon Professionals for Ken, the group’s petition to the NPP national leadership is not about defending any individual, including Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, but rather about instilling discipline within the party.

Amoako expressed concern that the Bono Regional Chairman’s continued insults could provoke reciprocal insults targeting his preferred candidate, potentially destabilizing the party.
