Third Force Alliance Ghana Slams NPP’s Stance on Chief Justice Suspension

The Third Force Alliance Ghana, comprising parties such as PNC, GCPP, APC, CPP, GFP, and GUM, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its reaction to President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to suspend Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

The NPP has vowed to offer support to the suspended Chief Justice and oppose the President’s decision.

At a press conference, Mr. Citizen Ato Dadzie, General Secretary of GCPP, accused the NPP of hypocrisy and disingenuous motives.

“The NPP and its surrogates are not minded about the dictates of the Constitution, but are only interested in stoking political and gender sentiments to cause disaffection for the President and his government,” he stated.

The Third Force Alliance praised President Mahama for allowing citizens to peacefully demonstrate without harassment or brutalization, demonstrating his commitment to democracy and the rule of law. In contrast, the Alliance criticized the NPP’s behavior, citing the Minority Leader’s actions during a recent demonstration.
