Ghanaians Urged to Stop Assaulting Firefighters at Fire Scenes

The Bono East Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), ACFO2 Rev. Naomi Ofori Adubea Sarpong, has called on Ghanaians to stop attacking and assaulting firefighters during emergency operations.

She made this appeal during the celebration of International Firefighters Day in the Bono East Region.

Rev. Sarpong highlighted the increasing trend of firefighters being attacked due to perceived delays in response times.

She emphasized that firefighters are dedicated to ensuring fire safety and providing assistance in various emergencies, and therefore, the public should exercise patience and refrain from mistreating them.

The Regional Commander urged Ghanaians to support firefighters in their operations, rather than criticizing them for perceived delays.

Mr. Joseph Appiagyei, Bono East Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of supporting firefighters as they work to extinguish fires and safeguard lives and property.
