A political analyst, Mr. Samuel Boateng, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership to cancel its ongoing “Thank You Tour” with immediate effect.
He believes the tour is unnecessary and may damage the party’s reputation ahead of the next elections.
Mr. Boateng argues that the party should focus on analyzing the reasons behind its significant defeat in the 2024 general elections, rather than embarking on a gratitude tour.
He also suggests that the party’s national executives should resign due to their failure to secure victory.
The analyst criticized the tour’s chaotic scenes and questioned the decision to include former flagbearer candidates and national executives who publicly supported their preferred candidates during the primaries.
Instead, he recommends that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer, should have undertaken the tour with regional and constituency executives.
