The Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, also known as ‘King Zuba,’ has promised to give each member of the Asante Kotoko SC team a ¢1,000 bonus if they emerge victorious against Accra Hearts of Oak in their Week 30 Ghana Premier League match on Sunday.
During a visit to the team’s training ground, King Zuba expressed his unwavering support for the club and donated $1,000 to aid in their preparation for the crucial match.
He urged the players to deliver a resounding victory for the team’s supporters worldwide.
The Mayor emphasized that Asante Kotoko is a symbol of Asanteman and Otumfuo, and as the Mayor of Kumasi, he has a duty to champion the club’s interests, especially against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko’s team manager, Henry Ohene Brenya, thanked the Mayor for his visit, gift, and promise, pledging to deliver a win on Sunday.
The head of Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, assured the Mayor that the team is working towards achieving their target of 18 points from the remaining matches.
The win would be a significant boost for Kotoko, who are currently fourth on the league table with 50 points, just three points behind the league leaders.
