Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union Celebrates 10th Anniversary, shares Impact of Digital Technology On Its Operations
The Ashanti Regional Board Chairman of Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union Limited, Honourable Kwarteng Amaniampong, has underscored the impact of digital technology on the institution’s operations, resulting in an unprecedented financial growth in the 2024 financial year.
Speaking in an interview at the 10th Anniversary and 5th Annual General Meeting held at the Ntonso Central Seventh Day Adventists’ Church on Thursday, 1st May 2025, he said the introduction of mobile banking and innovative products have improved the nature of transactions and made them more convenient for its customers.
He noted that clients can now perform all forms of transactions from the comfort of their homes, without having to experience the ordeal and risk of carrying large amounts of money across distant places.
Explaining the motivation for the institution’s unparalleled service and diligence, Honourable Amaniampong said customers are the institution’s biggest priority.
He has, therefore, noted that as a medium-level credit union, its current vision is to increase its total assets to at least 30 million Ghana Cedis to become a large-category credit union in the next two years.
Meanwhile, the Manager of Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union, Godfrey Opoku, has also provided general financial advice to loan seekers, especially market women who usually go for group loans.
He emphasised that every loan seeker must be wary of the interest rate on the loan, as well as the purpose for which they would apply for the loan.
According to him, one unfortunate phenomenon is when people end up paying exhorbitant interests rates with whatever they have worked for.
Sharing their blissful experiences with the credit union, some of the customers expressed their thankfulness to the management for their endless support to them.
They also testified to the institution’s selflessness and commitment towards customer needs.
Amongst other appliances, the management awarded deserving clients with refrigerators, television sets, and microwaves for their long-standing loyalty.
