New Voter Forum Backs Volta Renaissance Forum’s Petition to President Mahama

The New Voter Forum (NVF) has expressed solidarity with the Volta Renaissance Forum’s petition to President John Mahama, calling for immediate action to address concerns regarding the appointment of “foreign Voltarians” to key positions in the Volta Region.
The NVF believes that the petitioners have a strong case, and President Mahama should treat the matter urgently.
The NVF shares the Volta Renaissance Forum’s concerns that the appointments of individuals who are not connected to the grassroots base of the party in the Volta Region are unfair and demotivating to hardworking party executives and activists.
The group argues that these appointments could lead to voter apathy ahead of the 2028 elections.
The NVF is calling on the Volta Regional NDC Chairman, Hon. Mawutor Agbavitor, to give the petitioners a fair hearing and engage them in meaningful dialogue to find lasting solutions to the concerns raised.
The group also wants the leadership to intervene quickly to address the neglect concerns of Volta-based NDC executives, activists, and financiers.
-The reversal of the appointment of the Acting Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) within a week, failing which they will take civil action.
– The appointment of Volta NDC activists to regional directorship positions to avoid mass action and demonstrations.
– A strategic meeting between the Regional Chairman, Regional Minister, and appointees to discuss creating job opportunities for hardworking executives and activists.
– “We believe the Petitioners have a strong case which President Mahama need to treat urgently with the view of appointing faithful NDC party executives and activists who has strong links with the grassroots.”
“The grassroots, who worked so hard day and night to secure this emphatic victory have been patient in the midst of appointment neglect. What we will not however take is the reckless imposition of aliens who did nothing to help us win the election.”
The NVF’s statement highlights the growing discontent within the NDC over the appointment process in the Volta Region.
The group’s demands, if not addressed, could lead to further divisions within the party and potentially affect its chances in the 2028 elections.
