
The Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Neenyi Ghartey VII, has appealed to the government to join forces with other agencies to bring peace to Bawku, which has been embroiled in conflict.
Speaking at the 29th congregation of UEW, Neenyi Ghartey VII emphasized that the ongoing conflict has resulted in loss of lives, disruption of education, and livelihoods, and therefore urged the government to intensify measures to restore peace.
The Paramount Chief of Effutu also urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used as tools for conflict, which could disturb the nation’s peace.
Neenyi Ghartey VII called on government and civil society to work together to build peace in Bawku and its surrounding communities.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of UEW, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, highlighted the university’s efforts to enhance students’ academic performance.
He encouraged the graduands to uphold the values of the university as they embark on their future endeavors.
