The Chief Executive Officer of Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr. John Tampuori, has called for the development of a robust policy to guide tertiary healthcare in Ghana.
Speaking before the Health Committee of Parliament during their regional monitoring visit, Dr. Tampuori emphasized the need for a clear definition of tertiary healthcare to inform infrastructure, equipment, and human resource requirements.
According to Dr. Tampuori, a well-defined policy would enable effective management and development of tertiary healthcare facilities.
This would ensure that these institutions are equipped to provide high-quality specialized care to patients.
The CEO’s call highlights the importance of a comprehensive policy framework in shaping the future of tertiary healthcare in Ghana.
