Tarkwa EPA Vehicle Theft: Police Arrest Suspect

The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with the theft of a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Tarkwa, Western Region.

Salifu Gariba was arrested on April 16, 2025, at Kukobila, along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway, and the stolen vehicle, with registration number GS 1845-23, was recovered.

According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle was stolen from the residence of an EPA employee at Budo City, a suburb of Tarkwa, in the early hours of April 15, 2025.

The suspect is currently in police custody and will face the due process of the law.

This swift arrest demonstrates the police’s commitment to protecting public property and holding perpetrators accountable.

The EPA vehicle theft is a separate incident from a recent armed robbery in Bogoso, where a police officer was killed and GHS900,000 stolen.

In that case, one suspect, Frederick Mensah alias Nana 1, was shot dead by the police.
