TETSI TRADITIONAL COUNCIL TO EDUCATE YOUTH WITH TRADITIONAL VALUES

The chiefs of Abura Tetsi of the Abura Asebu Kwamankse district want to educate the youth in the community with traditional values.

Omankardo of Abura Tetsi, Nana Kwa Ammisah said this at the launch this years Okyir Festival dubbed: “Empowering the Youth Through Education and Technology” in August.

The theme which seeks to empower the youth with needed skills to be self reliance because these days for personal and social development.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief of the Abura Tetsi, Okogyeaman Oprepeh X, Nana Kwa Ammisah II said, Tetsi is an old town which was there before the people of Abura, adding that the festival which use to be celebrated for sometime is been rekindle by the leadership of the chief, Okogyeaman Oprepeh X.

According to Nana Kwa Ammisah II, the youth are deviating from our values and tradition which the new leadership want to teach teach parents to pass on to the youth these traditions.

Abubakar Abass, an elder in the community lamented over lack social amenities which will bring development to the community, and pleaded with government to built a school for them to educate the youth.

The assemblyman for the area, Kojo Amoah used the occasion to wished the people well and also pleaded with government to built a school for them because they walked to Abura Dunkwa for education.
