Assalamualaikum…….
I stand here today to welcome you on behalf of the Council of Zongo Chiefs to celebrate yet another durbar of Chiefs and People of Northern roots and their associates domicile in Ashanti Region, as the President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs.
This gathering holds immense significance for all Northerners and their associates residing in the Ashanti Region, providing a platform for people to come together in unity and solidarity towards a shared purpose. It is a time when individuals from diverse backgrounds converge to showcase their traditional dances, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
The theme for this auspicious occasion, “Promoting tribal cohesion and unity among Zongo communities in Ashanti and beyond, “resonates deeply in the current context.
In a time marked by various challenges within the Zongo Chieftaincy institution in the Ashanti Region, this theme serves as a guiding light, emphasizing the importance of coming together as one cohesive unit.
As tribal communities, it is very important we highlight the need for collaboration and harmony among different Zongo communities, not only within the Ashanti Region but also extending beyond geographical boundaries.
The significance of promoting tribal cohesion and unity cannot be overstated, especially in a society where unity is paramount for progress and development.
By fostering a sense of togetherness and solidarity, Zongo communities can overcome obstacles and strive towards a brighter future.
As we gather here today, let us reflect on the essence of tribal cohesion and unity, recognizing the power of coming together for a common purpose.
Through mutual respect and collaboration, we can build stronger communities and create a more prosperous future for all.
This occasion serves as a reminder of the strength that lies in unity and the transformative impact it can have on our collective journey.
I would also like to implore the government to step up its efforts in ensuring that fugitives in Bawku are apprehended and brought to justice.
This is crucial for upholding the rule of law and maintaining the safety and security of the residents.
Let us embrace this theme wholeheartedly and work towards a future where tribal cohesion and unity are cherished values that guide our interactions and shape our shared destiny.
Before I conclude, I will leave you with a quotation from the Holy Quran “Hold just to the rope of God all together and be not be divided (Suratul Al-Imran 103)”.
In conclusion, I would like to urge the people of Bawku and its surrounding areas to accept peace for the overall development of the region. It is essential that all members of the community come together to foster a harmonious environment where progress and prosperity can thrive.
Thank you.
